Im just wondering what exaust setups you have for your Mustang. I am curious because I will be doing exaust in the spring and want to hear what sounds good. I have listened to mustangexaust.com's setup's but hearing exaust in person is way different then an MP3 recording.
So if anyone in the twin cities area would let me come listen to your exaust setup that would be great. I will be going the Catted version because I want something a little louder but not obnoxious. Please let me know. (also let me know what car the exaust is on)

Too bad my set up isn't on my car yet. I think you would like it. Plus I live in AV. Magna flow cat x-pipe, Magnaflow cat-back.

I'm running a bassani X with flowmaster 40s.

If I could do a different setup (i love mine tho) I would go offroad H with flows. Much louder.

Punch I will come over and listen to your exaust early in the spring (if thats no problem) as far as the MagnaFlow setup, they do not yet make a magnaflow x pipe for the 97 Cobra. I might wanna listen to it anyways thow.

My car is running bassani off road x-pipe and borla stainless cat-back. My car is running so you can listen to it anytime youd like. I am in rogers/

I can't believe Magnaflow has dissed 94-98 mustangs like that.

I don't know for sure, but I've heard that some of the other x-pipes hang lower than stock ones. Could be a problem if your car is lowered.

I'm 1.75 inches lowered, and the Mag x is supposed hang stock height.

Not sure if it's true, like I said. The best seller for me was the price. I got the Cat pipe for $379, and it's stainless.

BTW off road x's sound badass with flowmaster 2 chambers.

exahust? hmmm, we don't need no stinkin mufflers! :D

So yeah, just thought I'd throw that in here. Gonna be alot of difference between a setup and sound on an SN95 compared to a MN12. I just chopped the mufflers off and had some tips put on. It works. :)

ghetto....GHETTO.....ghettoricebird yeah! heheheh

I'm seeing alot of flowmaster here..... You guys not like any of the others? I've been thinking about going with a legal exhuast on my car and i'm not quite sure what I think of the flowmaster sound. Might just dump my 3rd cat and resonator in favor of a Y pipe.....

Anyone do cheap exhaust work? :)

What kind of car do you have? Im guessing a 35th aniversary Mustang GT but Im not positive. And I drive through rodgers minnesota every time I come back from college (university of north dakota) I would like to maybe stop by the sunday after thanksgiving if your not busy. If you are no biggy i come back for xmas and other holidays too :)

And magnaflow did not dog all the 94-98 cars but they dogged the 97 Cobra.. Not sure why but their rep told me they made a few and they keep having problems so there still working on it.

From what I've heard the coolest setup is a bassani off road X and borla catback. The XR1 mufflers are supposed to be really impressive.

Comming up with an exhaust combo is so hard, its one of the toughest decisions to make because you don't want to be dissapointed. I chose the flowmaster mufflers because they were cheap (120 shipped from dj) and the bassani x because of the quality.

The ULTIMATE exhaust setup in my opinion would be BBK long tube headers, shorty H, and flowmaster american thunder catback. Youll get performance WITH that flowmaster sound.. but you'll also get an empty bank account. :p

If you are going to do more mods then start with this.1 5/8 full length headers, 2.5 offroad x-pipe, as far as mufflers go horse power is more important. flowmasters are good. I don't think you would not like the 40 series, to loud. go with the 50 series or the 30 series it is even quieter.

Sierra yes I do have a 99 35th anniversary GT. I will be home that sunday, so if you let me know a time frame I can be there for ya.

Dont waste your time on headers for your cobra unless you plan on going supercharged. The hp gains on an N/A 4v car are neglible specialy given the pain in the ass of installing them and the cost.

shorty headers, offroad x, dynomax s.s. ultraflo catback $$$$

True, full lenght headers do take some time to install. but so what go with shorty if its to much work. As for the Hp gain be it on a N/A, supercharged or NOS motor it all adds up. Rememer an engine is just an airpump, after you pump it in you have to pump it out RITE.

Sweet35th. First question is
where did you get your car dyno tuned? Or are you just estimating Hp/TQ.

Second I would like to stop by on my way back to grand Forks On sunday I will let you knwo a smaller timeframe.

3rd what dealership if any do you work at? I usually have service done at american ford but im a little P'ed of at them lately but they are still a decent dealership.

I had my car dyno'd at Elite and Guinsman automotive with similar numbers.

I work at Boyer Ford. We mainly work on trucks. But I do do side work out of my house, so just let me know what you want done, and I can do it.

Different sound since it's a 5.0.... but BBK equal-length 1-5/8" shorties, cheap off-road H, Amercian Thunder Flows (2-chamb) and dumps!
You can hear me...

BBK 1 5/8 chrome shorty headers (not installed)
Ravvin mufflers (put on by previous owner)

I'm hoping for an off-road X-pipe by next summer.
